As much as we don't like to admit it, as gay men, we can be heavily appearance-oriented and with that, utterly terrified of even the notion of aging. If you take a long hard look at our straight male counterpart of the same age, they just seem to take on the beer belly and wrinkles eons earlier than we do, perhaps due to factors like not exercising as frequently and lack of skincare routines (ehemm, and maybe less Botox 💅). Now that we have admitted and accepted this about ourselves, you may be wondering how can we defy aging and keep our youthful, boyish looks and energy a bit longer?

There are many ways to consume curcumin supplements including as a tablet or as a powder (which can be mixed into drinks). Alternatively, you can regularly consume turmeric in its pure spice form. The taste of turmeric is undoubtedly unique and likely acquired, but if you add it to curries or make turmeric-spiced lattes, you are going to start craving it on the daily!

Omega-3

Remember that perplexing era in the 1990s when we shunned fats and low-fat products were all the rage (despite being loaded with other sugars)? Omega-3 is proof that not all fat is bad for you. Green tea can also assist with weight loss and may even reduce liver damage. If you like herbal teas, you can drink green tea in its pure form. Alternatively, you can explore the range of green tea extract products on the market - these provide all the vitamins and minerals of green tea but in a small tablet. 


Of course, other behaviors and good habits like diet, frequent exercise and yoga will contribute to even greater longevity, but starting to integrate some of these supplements into your daily regimen has the potential to amplify the results!
