From June 14-22, 2025, Lisbon, which is already a thriving LGBTQ+ hub, will hit an even higher level of love, acceptance, and celebration. After winning the bid with an impressive 79% of votes, this sun-soaked city (it gets 300 days of sun a year) is ready to welcome thousands of visitors for nine days of parades, parties, cultural events, and powerful advocacy for LGBTQI+ rights.
Get Ready for EuroPride 2025 in Lisbon!
We're headed to EuroPride 2025 Lisbon for EuroPride 2025! From June 14-22, Portugal's capital will light up with Europe's biggest annual LGBTQI+ celebration, with the main parade taking over the streets on June 21.
We're super excited that Lisbon won the bid, and with good reason! Three amazing Portuguese organizations (ILGA Portugal, rede ex aequo, and Variações) teamed up with Amplos to bring this massive celebration to their city. They totally crushed it at the European Pride Organisers Association vote, scoring 79% against Magdeburg, Germany!
So, Why Lisbon?
Yeah, it's true there are fabulous beaches and nightlife. But there is plenty more where that comes from. It's a place where culture and openness come together perfectly. The city has this amazing way of mixing its rich history with modern inclusivity that makes it perfect for hosting such an important event.
Want to be part of something big? This is your chance! EuroPride isn't just another party, it's where thousands of people from across Europe come together to celebrate love, fight for rights, and show solidarity. Whether you're part of the LGBTQI+ community or an ally, Lisbon's ready to welcome you with open arms! 🇵🇹
But Let's Backtrack, What's EuroPride All About?
If you've never heard of LGBTQ+ EuroPrides before, let me fill you in! Think of it as Europe's biggest LGBTQI+ party that moves around the continent each year. It all kicked off in London back in 1992, and since then, it's been bringing people together in different cities every summer.
Here's what makes it special; it's not just one city's pride celebration. Instead, local LGBTQI+ groups from all over Europe pitch their cities to host this mega-event. The European Pride Organisers Association gets together and votes on who'll get to throw the next big summer party!
But EuroPride is way more than just parties (though we went to some of them in Thessaloniki during EuroPride 2024 and they were pretty amazing). It's about making noise for equality, shining a spotlight on human rights, and giving local LGBTQI+ communities a bigger platform to speak up. When EuroPride rolls into town, it brings positive change with it, from boosting local businesses to getting people talking about equality.
Each host city puts its own spin on things, but they all share the same goal: bringing people together to celebrate love and fight for rights. And let me tell you, when these cities host EuroPride, the energy is just incredible! The streets fill with music, color, and thousands of people coming together to show that love is love.
This was a little glimpse of us in Thessaloniki last year:

What is the Weather Like in June in Lisbon?
June in Lisbon brings sunny skies and warm temps (think 25°C/77°F), so pack light! Throw in some breezy outfits, comfy walking shoes (those hills are no joke!), and don't forget your sunscreen and shades. And hey, maybe pack something fabulous for the parade!
What to Do in Lisbon
You'll love how Lisbon mixes pride events with local flair. Start your day at a drag brunch, catch some afternoon art shows, then hit a rooftop party as the sun sets. The city's got something happening 24/7 during EuroPride week!
Head to Príncipe Real and Bairro Alto for the best LGBTQ Euro Prides spots in town. These neighborhoods are packed with friendly bars, restaurants, and clubs where you can meet people from all over Europe. Trust me, the vibe here is amazing...everyone's welcome and ready to party!

How to Get Around Lisbon
Getting around is super easy...hop on the metro, catch a historic tram, or jump on a bus. You'll zip between venues without too much of a sweat. Lil' tip: grab a transit pass to save some cash!
Should I Learn Some Portuguese?
Need to brush up on your Portuguese? No worries! Most locals speak English, but learning "Olá" (hello), "Obrigado/a" (thank you), and "Por favor" (please) goes a long way. The locals love when visitors try to speak their language!
The Portuguese are pretty laid-back, but they value good manners. A smile and a "thank you" will make you friends anywhere. And when you're out and about, remember that personal space matters here, just like the rest of Europe!
