Here it comes every year—the excitement of Mariah Carey Christmas songs and all our favorite gay icons belting out holiday hits, alongside the stress of planning the ultimate gay vacation Christmas. Let’s not even get started on New Year’s Eve and the start of 2025, which is just another layer of unnecessary drama (because let’s be real, the weather in the Northern Hemisphere is never on our side—expensive and unpleasant).
So how do you choose the best destinations to spend your next Christmas? It can be a burden, even for straight folks. (By the way, check out the Italian series I Hate Christmas, based on the Norwegian series Home for Christmas.) Imagine navigating the holidays as a gay person, sometimes not even out to family, and, sadly, often not accepted.
Can’t wait to wear your gay couple Christmas pajamas? Want some gay Christmas romance? Whether you’re in a couple and not quite ready to face the family circus or looking to dance the night away and connect with new friends abroad, we’ve tailored the perfect destinations for an unforgettable Christmas.
Remember, whether you’re with family, friends, or flying solo, your Christmas can be whatever you choose. Fill it with colored lights, music, and, of course, glitter.
By the way, to help spark Christmas inspiration, I’ve even created a tailor-made Christmas Spotify playlist to set the mood:
And if it doesn’t all go perfectly, don’t worry—there’s always another Christmas! If you prefer to stay home with family this year to save money for future adventures, check out our winter holidays calendar featuring winter pride events and ski weeks around the world!
Now, let’s snowfall into the 15 best destinations for Christmas this year for our fabulous LGBTQ+ community!

Just remember, after the 24th, the holiday magic suddenly fades, and solo travelers may find themselves longing for that festive cheer.
